1.What is a 100G QSFP28 BIDI optical module?

       By adopting the single-fiber bidirectional transmission (WDM) technology, only one fiber is needed to complete the bidirectional data transmission, saving 50% of fiber resources; with high-density design, it uses a small-sized QSFP28 package, suitable for high-density switch ports; it has strong compatibility, supporting interconnection with mainstream brand switches, and facilitating smooth upgrade of the existing network; it supports a transmission distance of 100m to 80km, applicable to solution scenarios in data centers and telecommunications operators and other fields.

2.Key technologies adopted by the 100G QSFP28 BIDI optical module
        Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM): Traditional optical modules require two separate fibers for "sending" and "receiving". However, the BIDI module utilizes the WDM technology to enable a single fiber to carry two different wavelengths of optical signals simultaneously. For example, the upstream wavelength is 1270nm and the downstream wavelength is 1330nm. These two wavelengths do not interfere with each other, just like dividing "two-way lanes" on a highway, achieving efficient coexistence. 
        PAM4 modulation: The traditional NRZ modulation technology (0/1 binary level) faces a bandwidth bottleneck at high rates. However, PAM4 (four-level pulse amplitude modulation) improves efficiency through "four-lane parallelism"; each symbol carries 2 bits of information, doubling the rate compared to NRZ; it is compatible with 50Gbps single wavelength and can easily achieve a total bandwidth of 100G.
